Casamigos Mezcal

From Sparrow’s agave and sotol list, the Casamigos Mezcal brings the same well-loved name to the smoky world of mezcal, $18 by the pour, or $27 for a larger pour.

About Casamigos Mezcal

Casamigos was founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman, the friends behind one of the most recognizable agave brands in the world, and has been owned by Diageo since 2017. While the brand’s tequilas come from Jalisco, this mezcal is produced in Oaxaca, the heartland of mezcal, by a fourth-generation family of mezcaleros. It is made from 100% Espadin agave that is harvested and slow roasted for four to six days in earthen pits before being crushed using a traditional tahona wheel, the time-honored process that gives mezcal its character.

Tasting Notes

Flavors and aromatics range from fruity to spicy, with a balanced smokiness. It is a mezcal built for approachability, with the earthy smoke kept in check so the agave and fruit notes can come through clearly, an easy entry point for anyone new to mezcal as well as a satisfying pour for seasoned fans.

What to Pair It With

Mezcal and bright, savory food are a classic match. From the Sparrow dinner menu, try it with the Lamb Quesa-Birria Tacos, the Guajillo Chicken, or the Tuna Tartare. It is excellent neat or in a smoky Margarita, and our daily happy hour runs 3 to 5 PM.
