Jack Daniel’s

From Sparrow’s whiskey list, Jack Daniel’s is an American icon and one of the most recognizable pours in the building ($12 by the pour, or $18 for a larger pour).

About Jack Daniel’s

Jack Daniel’s is a Tennessee whiskey made in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where the distillery was founded by Jasper “Jack” Daniel back in the 1860s. What sets it apart from bourbon is the Lincoln County Process, a step where the freshly distilled spirit is filtered slowly, drop by drop, through thick layers of sugar maple charcoal before it ever goes into the barrel. That charcoal mellowing is the signature of Tennessee whiskey, and it is a big part of why Jack pours so smooth. From there it ages in new charred oak barrels until it is ready.

Tasting Notes

Jack Daniel’s is known for an easygoing, mellow character. Expect soft vanilla and toasted oak, a touch of caramel sweetness, and the smooth, rounded finish that comes from all that charcoal filtering. It is friendly and familiar, the kind of whiskey that works for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
