Clase Azul Plata

From Sparrow’s agave list, Clase Azul Plata is a crystal clear blanco from one of Mexico’s most respected artisan tequila houses ($39 by the pour, or $58.50 for a larger pour).

About Clase Azul Plata

For nearly 30 years Clase Azul has been one of the most well respected artisan tequila producers, known for its handcrafted, hand-painted ceramic bottles and meticulous approach. The tequila is made from 100% Tequilana Weber Blue agave in the Los Altos (Highlands) region of Jalisco around Jesus Maria. The Plata is the unaged, crystal clear expression in the range, bottled without time in oak so nothing stands between you and the agave itself. It is a showcase of the producer’s craft in its purest form, and the hand-finished presentation has helped make Clase Azul one of the most recognizable names in premium agave spirits. Plata is simply another word for the unaged, silver style of tequila.

Tasting Notes

This crystal clear blanco really lets the nuanced and fresh agave flavors shine through. Expect a clean, lively profile centered on cooked agave, with the bright, fresh character you want from a true plata. It is elegant and refined, made for slow, neat sipping where every detail counts. Because there is no barrel influence, this is a wonderful way to understand what the agave and the Highlands soil bring to the glass.

What to Pair It With

A premium plata like this is best enjoyed neat or over a single large cube so the agave stays front and center. If you would like food alongside, the Sparrow dinner menu offers the Tuna Tartare, fresh oysters, or the Lamb Quesa-Birria Tacos. Settle into our 21+ lounge with its quartzite bar and take your time with it.
