Bacardi

From Sparrow’s rum list, Bacardi is the bright, smooth, endlessly mixable light rum that anchors more cocktails than just about any spirit on the back bar ($11 by the pour, or $16.50 for a larger pour).

About Bacardi

Bacardi is one of the most famous names in rum, founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 by Facundo Bacardi Masso. Don Facundo set out to make a lighter, cleaner, more refined rum than the heavy spirits of his day, working with a proprietary strain of yeast and charcoal filtering to round off the rough edges. After the family left Cuba, production moved to other sites, and Puerto Rico became home to the brand’s famous distillery. Today Bacardi is a global standard for light rum, the bottle you reach for when you want a clean, versatile base that does not get in the way of a good cocktail.

Tasting Notes

Light rum like Bacardi is prized for being smooth and approachable. Expect a clean, gently sweet profile with soft notes of vanilla and a crisp, dry finish. It is built to be mixed, letting the other ingredients in a cocktail shine while adding warmth and a touch of sugarcane sweetness.

What to Pair It With

Bacardi is a mixing rum first. It is the heart of a Daiquiri, a Mojito, or a rum and soda, and it plays beautifully with bright, citrusy starters from the Sparrow dinner menu like the Tuna Tartare or Fresh Oysters. Catch our daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM with $3 off well drinks, and enjoy it out on the four-season patio.
