About Woodinville Rye
Woodinville Whiskey Co. is a flagship Washington State craft distillery based in Woodinville, just up the road on the Eastside. As the menu describes, this rye is made with 100% proprietary rye from the Omlin farm in Quincy, Washington. The barrels are seasoned by the elements, rain, wind, sun, and snow, for 18 months before being heavily toasted and deeply charred, and the whiskey is grown, distilled, aged, and bottled entirely in Washington State. After being mashed and distilled in Woodinville, the spirit is trucked back over the Cascade Mountains to age in private barrel houses in Central Washington, where hot summers and cold winters drive it deep into the charred oak as the barrels expand and contract through the seasons. Being a 100% rye, rather than a blend with corn, makes this an uncommon offering even among craft distillers.
Tasting Notes
A 100% rye delivers the spice that rye drinkers love. Expect bright, peppery baking-spice character with notes that lean toward caramel, wood spice, and honey over a long, memorable finish. It is bold but balanced.
What to Pair It With
Sip it neat or over a large cube, or let it shine in a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned. From the Sparrow dinner menu it pairs nicely with the American Wagyu steaks or the Sparrow-Smoked Rack. Enjoy it during the daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM, or settle in with it in our 21+ lounge.
