Ruca Malen Malbec

03/05/2026

From Sparrow’s red wine by the glass list, the Ruca Malen Malbec brings a taste of Argentina to Kirkland, a smooth, unoaked Mendoza Malbec that is easy to love ($14 a glass).

About Ruca Malen Malbec

This is 100% Malbec sourced from two renowned high-altitude subregions of Mendoza, Argentina. The grapes are hand harvested in the vineyard and hand selected at the winery, then cold macerated and fermented in concrete and stainless steel. It is aged for 18 months with absolutely no oak, which keeps the fruit pure and the texture soft.

Tasting Notes

Medium to full bodied, with a soft round texture and fine tannins. The palate runs through dark and red fruit with subtle floral and herbal tones. Because it sees no oak, it tastes bright and fruit-forward rather than woody, a very gluggable style of Malbec.

What to Pair It With

Malbec and grilled meat are a classic match. From the Sparrow dinner menu, try it with the American Wagyu steaks, the Guajillo Chicken, or the Lamb Quesa-Birria Tacos. It is also a crowd pleaser with the Wagyu Sliders for the table.
