Mionetto Spritz

From the Non-Alcoholic Cocktails list at Sparrow, the Mionetto Spritz is our zero-proof take on the Italian patio classic, built with Dhos NA aperitivo, Mionetto alcohol-removed sparkling wine, and soda ($13). Refreshing and bittersweet, it is proof the designated driver gets a great glass too, right here in Kirkland’s Juanita neighborhood.

About Mionetto Spritz

The spritz is one of the most beloved aperitivo drinks in the world, and this is the full experience without the alcohol. The bittersweet backbone comes from Dhos, an Oregon-made non-alcoholic aperitivo (an offshoot of Ransom Spirits) sweetened naturally rather than with artificial dyes. The bubbles come from Mionetto, the famous Prosecco house founded in 1887 in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of Italy’s Prosecco region; their alcohol-removed sparkling starts as real wine from indigenous Italian grapes before the alcohol is gently removed. We finish it with soda over ice and a garnish, just like the original. It is a craft pour, not an afterthought, and it lands beautifully on the four-season, dog-friendly patio or at weekend brunch (10 AM to 2 PM).

Tasting Notes

Bright, fizzy, and bittersweet, with the orange-and-herb bitterness of the aperitivo balanced against crisp, fruit-forward sparkling and a clean soda lift. It is light, refreshing, and grown-up, exactly what a spritz should be, fully zero proof.

What to Pair It With

A spritz is born to start a meal. From the Sparrow menu, pair it with the Truffle Deviled Eggs, Fresh Oysters, or the Burrata Avocado. At brunch it is a festive, no-proof stand-in for a mimosa.
