Dry Curacao

From Sparrow’s liqueur list, the Dry Curacao is a classic orange liqueur and a bartender’s favorite, $10 by the pour, or $15 for a larger pour.

About Dry Curacao

This is the Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, a French orange liqueur built on a 19th century recipe and developed in conjunction with the legendary cocktail historian David Wondrich. Pierre Ferrand is a respected Cognac house, and that pedigree shows here. The liqueur starts with the bitter peels of Curacao oranges, which are infused and distilled, then blended with brandy and Pierre Ferrand Cognac. The result is a higher class French take on triple sec, drier and more aromatic than the everyday orange liqueurs most cocktails are built on. It is the kind of bottle that has become a quiet standard behind craft cocktail bars, and we are glad to pour it here in Kirkland.

Tasting Notes

Expect bright, fresh orange peel up front, with a rounder, slightly nutty Cognac warmth underneath. It is less sweet than a standard triple sec, with a touch of spice and real depth from the brandy base. That balance of zesty citrus and gentle richness is exactly why it works so well in cocktails and holds up on its own.

What to Pair It With

Curacao is a mixing spirit at heart, the backbone of a Sidecar or a classic Margarita, and it shines in the 21+ lounge after dinner. If you would rather pair it with a plate, it loves the brighter dishes on the Sparrow dinner menu, from the Tuna Tartare to the Burrata Avocado. Stop in during our daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM for a relaxed start to the evening.
