About Brucato Orchards

Brucato is a small San Francisco amaro producer founded by Sierra and James Clark, who make Italian-style amari from the produce and botanicals of California. The brand takes its name from John Brucato, founder of the San Francisco Farmers Market in 1943, and each expression celebrates a California landscape. Orchards is their fruit-driven bottling, built on over 25 regional botanicals including black walnuts, cinnamon, dried Blenheim apricots, and persimmons sourced from California farms. The predominant flavors come through as apricot, walnut, Meyer lemon, orange, and cinnamon, a portrait of California orchard country in a glass.

Tasting Notes

Orchards is warm and fruit-forward, with bright apricot and citrus from Meyer lemon and orange, the nutty depth of walnut, and a finishing thread of cinnamon spice. It is bittersweet and rounded, leaning toward the sweeter, more dessert-friendly end of the amaro spectrum.

What to Pair It With

This fruit-and-nut style is a natural digestivo. Sip it neat or over a large cube after dinner, ideally with an espresso or something sweet from the Sparrow menu like the Truffle Deviled Eggs to open the evening. It is a cozy pour in our 21+ lounge, and our daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM is a good time to give it a try.
