From Sparrow’s gin list, Big Gin is a Seattle-made London Dry that we are proud to pour as a local favorite ($11 by the pour, or $16.50 for a larger pour).
About Big Gin
Big Gin was created by Captive Spirits in Seattle, built around an original recipe in the classic London Dry style. It unites nine botanicals sourced from around the world: juniper, coriander, bitter orange peel, grains of paradise, angelica, cassia, orris, cardamom, and Tasmanian pepperberry. That Tasmanian pepperberry gives the gin a little extra warmth and lift that sets it apart from a standard London Dry. It is a genuine Washington gin with deep roots in the local craft scene, exactly the kind of Eastside-friendly pour Sparrow likes to keep on the list.
Tasting Notes
Big Gin lives up to its name with a confident, juniper-forward backbone. The coriander and citrus from the bitter orange peel keep it bright, while grains of paradise, cardamom, and Tasmanian pepperberry add gentle spice and a peppery warmth. It is a robust, classic style that shines in a martini or a gin and tonic.
What to Pair It With
A bold London Dry is endlessly mixable. From the Sparrow dinner menu, enjoy it with Fresh Oysters, the Tuna Tartare, or a crisp salad, or build it into a martini or spritz. It is a great pour in our 21+ lounge, and our daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM takes $3 off well drinks.
