About Threadcount Sauvignon Blanc

Threadcount comes from Joseph Wagner, a fifth-generation winemaker whose family co-founded the famed Caymus Vineyards in Napa Valley in 1972. Wagner grew up in the business and has built a reputation for crafting expressive, polished California wines through his Copper Cane label. Threadcount is one of his more recent projects, conceived around the idea of weaving together carefully chosen vineyard sites, like threads in a fabric, to build balance, texture, and depth. This bottling is 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc, sourced from six of Napa’s warmer locations. Importantly, it sees no oak, a deliberate choice so that the pure fruit and minerality of the grape take center stage. The result is a clean, transparent style that lets the vineyards speak for themselves.

Tasting Notes

With no oak to get in the way, this is all about bright, expressive fruit. Expect a complex array of fruit flavors with crisp acidity and a clear, mineral-driven backbone. The warmer Napa sourcing gives the wine ripeness and generosity, while the unoaked, stainless style keeps it fresh, clean, and lively from start to finish. It is a Sauvignon Blanc that feels both polished and refreshing.

What to Pair It With

An unoaked, mineral Sauvignon Blanc like this is made for fresh seafood and bright greens. From the Sparrow dinner menu, pour it with the Fresh Oysters, the Tuna Tartare, the Caesar Salad, or the Spring Arugula Salad. It is also a great match for the Wild Alaskan Halibut and the Scallops and Prosciutto.
