From Sparrow’s liqueur list, the Pumpkin Spiced Liqueur is our cozy little nod to fall, a Washington-made cordial that tastes like the season in a glass ($13 by the pour, or $19.50 for a larger pour).
About Pumpkin Spiced Liqueur
This one is made in Lynden, Washington, up in Whatcom County near the Canadian border, by a farm-to-glass apple distillery. They grow the fruit themselves and build the liqueur from natural spices and 100% pure pumpkin layered over an apple brandy base. That farm-grown apple spirit is what gives it real backbone instead of the syrupy sweetness you might expect from a flavored bottle. It is a genuinely local pour, which we love being able to share here in Kirkland.
Tasting Notes
Warm and autumnal, with the round, baked character of real pumpkin and a gentle lift of fall spice. The apple brandy underneath keeps it from going cloying, so it drinks smooth and a little orchard-fresh rather than candy-sweet. Think pie filling and cider, with a soft spiced finish.
What to Pair It With
Liqueurs like this shine after dinner. Pour it neat, over a big cube, or stirred into coffee for a grown-up nightcap. It is lovely alongside something sweet at the end of a meal from the Sparrow dinner menu, and it is a natural fit for cooler evenings out on our four-season patio. Catch our daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM, too, when well drinks are $3 off.
