From Sparrow’s agave and tequila list, the Patron El Alto Reposado is one of our most luxurious pours, a highland tequila built for slow sipping ($40 by the pour, or $60 for a larger pour).
About Patron El Alto Reposado
Patron El Alto is Patron’s prestige line, made in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, from 100% Weber Blue Agave. The name El Alto, meaning the high one, points to its source, agave grown in the highest reaches of the Atotonilco El Alto region, where the elevation and iron-rich red clay soil are known for yielding especially sweet agave. It is crafted with traditional methods, including agave ground with volcanic stone and slow-cooked before fermentation. The El Alto Reposado is a blend of tequilas aged in a wide range of barrel types, an unusually thoughtful approach that gives it remarkable depth for a reposado. Everything about it is built to feel special, from the agave selection to the bottle in your hand.
Tasting Notes
A reposado of this caliber leans rich and refined. Expect a smooth, full body with cooked agave at the core, layered with vanilla, soft oak, gentle baking spice and a honeyed sweetness that reflects the high-elevation agave. The finish is long, warm and polished, the kind of pour you want to take your time with.
What to Pair It With
This is a sip-and-savor tequila. Enjoy it neat or over a large cube to appreciate its depth, ideally as an after-dinner pour in our 21+ lounge. If you want it with food, it stands up to the richest plates on the Sparrow dinner menu, from the American Wagyu steaks to the Sparrow-Smoked Rack.
