About Horse Soldier Small Batch
Horse Soldier is made by American Freedom Distillery, founded by a group of retired U.S. Army Green Berets. The name honors the Special Forces soldiers who rode into northern Afghanistan on horseback in the days after September 11, 2001, a mission later told in the book Horse Soldiers and the film 12 Strong. The founders went from the battlefield to the still, building a distilling company out of that brotherhood. The brand is also known for the design of its flagship bottle, pressed in molds made from steel salvaged from the World Trade Center site. The Small Batch is their approachable everyday bourbon, made in limited batches for a more hands-on, consistent character.
Tasting Notes
This is a warm, easygoing bourbon. Expect classic notes of caramel and vanilla with soft baking spice, a touch of fruit, and a gentle oak finish. It is smooth and welcoming, the kind of pour that suits both newcomers and seasoned bourbon drinkers.
What to Pair It With
Sip it neat or over a large cube, or build it into an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. It pairs naturally with our American Wagyu steaks, the Sparrow-Smoked Rack, or the Truffle Deviled Eggs. Enjoy it during the daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM, or raise a glass in our 21+ lounge after dinner.
