About Aqua Di Cedro
This liqueur is flavored with cedro, also known as citron, a sweet cousin of the lemon. Aqua di Cedro is a classic from Nardini, the historic distillery founded in 1779 in Bassano del Grappa in the Veneto. The thick, fragrant peel of the citron is steeped in spirit, which gives the liqueur its intense citrus character. It is often called the noble cousin of limoncello, with a brighter, cleaner edge and a crystal-clear look in the glass. There is a lot of Italian history behind this little pour, and it lands well here on the Eastside.
Tasting Notes
This is bright, sweet, and citrusy, with a fragrant citron aroma that sits somewhere between lemon and something more floral and exotic. It is refreshing and lively, sweet without being heavy, and finishes clean with a lingering citrus zest.
What to Pair It With
Serve it chilled and neat as a digestivo, or over ice on a warm afternoon out on our four-season patio. It is a natural after a seafood dinner from the Sparrow dinner menu such as the Wild Alaskan Halibut or the Fresh Oysters. The bright citrus also makes it a fun base for a spritz at our daily happy hour, 3 to 5 PM.
