About Teeling Irish Whiskey
Teeling is produced by the Teeling Whiskey Company in Dublin, Ireland. The family name reaches back to 1782, when Walter Teeling set up a small craft distillery in the city, and brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling revived that legacy when they opened the Teeling Whiskey Distillery in Dublin’s historic Liberties in 2015, the first new distillery to open in the city in more than 125 years. The Teeling Small Batch is built from a marriage of grain and malt whiskey aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in rum casks, a distinctive touch that sets it apart and gives it a loyal following far beyond Ireland, including here on the Eastside.
Tasting Notes
Irish whiskey is prized for being light, smooth, and approachable, and Teeling fits that style while adding its own character. The rum cask finishing brings a soft sweetness, with gentle vanilla, a touch of spice, and an inviting dried fruit note. It is rounded and easy to drink, which makes it a great pour for both newcomers and longtime Irish whiskey fans.
What to Pair It With
Teeling sips beautifully neat or over ice, and it makes a smooth, approachable Old Fashioned. Enjoy it in our 21+ lounge or out on the four-season patio. From the Sparrow dinner menu, it pairs nicely with the Truffle Deviled Eggs or the Sparrow-Smoked Rack. Our daily happy hour runs 3 to 5 PM with $3 off well drinks.
