About Browne Family Single Malt

Browne Family Spirits is the distilling arm of the well-known Browne Family Vineyards, an acclaimed Washington wine name that opened a distillery and tasting room in Spokane in late 2022. This single malt is made in Eastern Washington and, as the menu notes, it carries a minimum of four years of aging and absolutely no peat. That peat-free approach keeps the whiskey clean and malt-forward, a contrast to the smoky Islay style, and a nice showcase of what craft American single malt can be. We love pouring local Washington spirits at Sparrow, and this is a proud Eastside-friendly choice from across the state.

Tasting Notes

With no peat and several years in the barrel, expect a smooth, approachable single malt built around malted barley. The style tends toward gentle sweetness, with notes of honey, light vanilla, and toasted grain, and an easy, rounded finish. It is an unpretentious sipper, very much in keeping with Sparrow’s neighborhood spirit.

What to Pair It With

This is a smooth, peat-free single malt that sips easily neat or on the rocks. Enjoy it in our 21+ lounge by the quartzite bar, or work it into an Old Fashioned. From the Sparrow dinner menu, it pairs nicely with the American Wagyu steaks or the Truffle Deviled Eggs. Catch our daily happy hour from 3 to 5 PM for a relaxed start.
