About Fuji

Fuji is a Japanese whisky from Kirin’s Mt. Fuji Distillery, which sits at the foot of Mount Fuji and has been making whisky since 1973. The distillery draws on pure water from the mountain and is one of the few in the world able to produce multiple grain whisky styles under one roof, blending them with real Japanese precision. As the menu notes, Fuji is built from a blend of rye, wheat, and barley, which gives it a layered grain character and the polished, balanced quality Japanese whisky is loved for. It is a beautiful pour for anyone wanting to explore beyond Scotch in our Kirkland lounge.

Tasting Notes

Japanese grain whisky in this style tends to be clean, fruity, and elegant. Look for bright notes of orange and white grape, a soft sweetness, and a smooth, polished finish. It is refined and very approachable, the kind of whisky that drinks easily neat and rewards a slow sip.

What to Pair It With

Fuji is a refined sipper, lovely neat or over a single large cube in our 21+ lounge at the quartzite bar. From the Sparrow dinner menu, its clean fruit notes pair nicely with the Tuna Tartare or the American Wagyu steaks, and it also makes an elegant Old Fashioned.
